REHUGO ANALYSIS- Visual: Politcal Cartoon

A. Cartoon Attached- Artist: Ben Garrison

B. The trend of this political cartoon refers to Obama’s decision of having health care and the impact and damage it has on U.S. citizens.

C. The cartoon depicts how Obama’s health care system is hurting citizens rather than saving them. Obama is seen, with a sinister smile on his face, piling more leeches with different labels such as, “taxes, tyranny, IRS, etc.” all over the man’s body, sucking his life away. His life of freedom also weakens as the man tries to buzz for help, but no one listens. The women who stands beside Obama is shown pointing at her clip board exposing the large cost of health care with an evil expression. This shows how Obama’s decision of having health care is a lie to increase taxes, create fascism, and other political ideas to gain more money.

D. Many people today want and need the health care Obama has suggested. It has helped lives and gave people the opportunity to afford a doctor and be healthy. But in reality, Obama uses this system to collect money from citizens and increase taxes which would lead to destroying jobs. Although helpful in some ways, Obama’s health care reform can hurt people significantly.
