REHUGO Analysis: Universal Truth-quotes

A.“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.” - Rosaleen Dickson
This is a quotation from Rosaleen Dickson who graduated with a master’s degree from Carleton’s School of Journalism at the age of 81, she had already worked for more than 30 years as the publisher and editor of The Equity, a weekly, family-run newspaper.
If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.”- Thich Nhat Hanh
This quotation is from Thich Nhat Hanh, who is a Viatnamese monk, teacher, and writer. He is the writer of many books on philosophy, and wrote books including Vietnam: Lotus in a sea of fire. New York, Hill and Wang. 1967. Being Peace, Parallax Press, 1987,
B. Both of these quotations are on the subject of family, more specifically the tie between the older and younger generations.
The first quotation states the responsibility of a parent. That for a parent they need to love their children no matter the circumstances. That the love that has a condition set upon it will only invite disappointment and resentment, as the standards of the children are not able to garner them the affection of the parent. That the only necessity for the love of a parent should be the fact that they are your child.
The second quotation states the burden on a child from the previous generations of parents, and parents unto them. That the child is the culmination of countless generations, and that through them the hopes and dreams of their ancestors will hopefully be realized. Though not only is it a quote of responsibility, it is also a quote of comfort in saying that though their generations are gone, that you are the living personification of their hopes, unto the world.
C. These two quotations tie together the responsibilities of each generation. How their interactions need to be conducted in order to produce the desired affect on the continuation of society. That both the children who must go out into world, and the parents that must prepare those same children for the world, must do their jobs correctly in order to function together.

  1. Both of these quotations are on the subject of family, more specifically the tie between the older and younger generations. - could you rewrite this without using the words "more specifically?"
